Docksiders Level 6 Team
Wins the State Championships!
Docksiders
Level 6 Team has been winning all season. On Sunday April 11, 2010 they
reached the highlight of their season by winning the State Team Title
at the Championships which was held at Top Flight Gymnastics in
Columbia, Maryland. The team of 14 girls beat Hills Gymnastics from
Gaithersburg, Maryland by more than a full point. Coaches, Tony Eusini,
Cheree Ragin and Allison Gerken had a feeling they could pull off the
win, but they also knew they had to have the right kids hit there
routines for it to happen. Proper preparation surely paid off for this
young team and the prize is a huge first place
trophy!
Lexie Banham had the highest All-Around score for the Level 6 team. She scored a 37.70 and broke the Docksiders Level 6 All-Around record. She placed 3rd in the Child B age group. She earned the Floor Exercise Champion Title with a high score of 9.55. Lexie also earned the status of Maryland State Team member, which is made up of the top 6 All-Around scores of the 160 Level 6 gymnasts competing in the State competition.
In the Junior B age group, Nicole Martin placed 3rd on Balance Beam
with a solid performance scoring 9.475. In the same age group, Angela
Marino placed 3rd on Uneven Bars with an 8.90. Competing in the Child A
age group, Meghan McKenna Placed 3rd on Balance Beam with the awesome
score of 9.475.
Competing for the Team Victory were teammates, Ronni Binstock, Ashley Diekemper, Kyra Feick, Melanie Martin, Karsyn Modeski, Kaitlyn Mozer, Madeline Nesbit, Katelyn Pesile, Lexi Pitkevits, and Rachael Ward.
