Docksiders Shine for Valentines!!
The Docksiders Level 4-7 Girls Team competed in the Baltimore County Valentines Gymnastics Meet February 8th & 9th and they were able to share the love on the victory stand! The Level 5 and 7 Team both took 3rd place in the Team competition. Angelique Agafonovas took top honors in the Level 5 All-Around winning her first title with a 36175. For Level 7 Carolyn Bailey earned Champion status in the All-Around with a 35.25. This was her first All-Around win of the season as well. Many individual awards were also awarded to these talented Docksiders gymnasts.
Two standout performances in Level 4 were by sisters Sophie and Audrey Hofmann. Both earned 2nd place in the All-Around in their respective age groups. Sophie scored 36.95 in the 8 year old age group to take 2nd. Audrey scored a 36.375 for her 2nd place finish in the 9 year old age group. Sophie also took 1st on Uneven Bars with a 9.45, 2nd on Balance Beam with a 9.10, and 3rd on Floor Exercise with 9.275. Audrey placed 1st on Balance Beam with a 9.325 and 2nd on Uneven Bars with a 9.35.
In Level 5 the top performer for
Docksiders was Angelique Agafonovas who placed 1st All-Around
in the 10 year old age group. She also took 1st on Uneven
Bars with a 9.40, 1st on Floor
Exercise
with a 9.125, and 3rd on Vault with an 8.95. In the same age
group Rachel Ward placed 2nd in the All-Around with a 35.55
and took 1st on both Vault with a 9.15 and Balance Beam with
an 8.90. She also took 2nd on Uneven Bars with a 9.05. Nina
Agafonovas placed 3rd in the All-Around with a 35.05, making
it a clean sweep with Docksiders going 1st-3rd in
that age group. Nina also took 3rd place on Uneven Bars with
a 9.0. Also for Docksiders in the 10 year old age group, Ashley
Diekemper placed 2nd on Balance Beam with an 8.90 and Karsyn
Modeski placed 2nd on Vault with a 9.0. In the 8 year old
age group Meghan McKenna took 3rd in the All-Around and also
3rd on Balance Beam with an 8.80. Nicole Martin, who was
competing in the 12 year old age group, placed 1st on Uneven
Bars with a 9.10 and 2nd on Floor Exercise with an 8.70.
Also competing for the 3rd place team finish were Ronni
Binstock, Kyra Feick, Melanie Martin, Madeline Nesbit, and Lexi
Pitkevits.
The Level 6 girls who took honors for Docksiders were Courtney Haynie, who placed 2nd on Vault with a 9.05, and Lindsey Gehring who placed 3rd on both Vault with an 8.95 and Floor Exercise with an 8.85.
The Level 7 Team claimed their first All-Around winner for the season when Carolyn Bailey scored 35.25 to win the 12&13 year old age group. Carolyn also took 2nd on both Vault with a 9.25 and Balance Beam with an 8.85. In the same age group Abby Herschman took 2nd on Floor Exercise with an 8.90. Jordan Collins, who was competing in the 11 year old age group, placed 2nd in the All-Around as well as 2nd on Uneven Bars and 3rd on Floor Exercise. Also assisting with the team’s 3rd place finish were Devin Gromen, Amy Milligan, Camryn Rosen, and Sarina Troese.
