Docksiders McKenna & Swann-White Earn Champion Status!
Docksiders Compulsory gymnasts kicked of the new gymnastics season with victories across the levels. The Level 4ís put in a good showing for their first ever competition. The Level 5 Team took 2nd place in the team competition and 8 year old Meghan Mckenna won the All-Around title with a total score of 35.45. In the Level 6 competition Alex Swann-White took Champion honors in the 10 year old division All-Around competition with a 34.725. Many other Docksider girls took individual places and it was a great start to the season!
Alex Swann-White, a veteran to Level 6 competition, took 2nd place on both Vault with an 8.70 and Uneven Bars with an 8.75. Her All-Around win was her first Champion title. Her Docksider teammate Lindsey Gehring earned Champion status on Floor Exercise with an 8.85, and Rebecca Beall took 3rd place honors on Vault with an 8.55.
In the Level 5 competition Meghan McKenna took two 1st place awards, Vault with an 8.80 and Uneven Bars with the high score of 9.50. Her 3rd place finish on Floor Exercise, with the score of 8.85, also helped her win the All-Around Title. This was the first All-Around win of her career and her first meet as a Level 5 gymnast. Several other Docksider Level 5 Team members also had impressive performances. Ronni Binstock, who is just 7 years old, took 1st place on Vault with an 8.80, 2nd place on Floor Exercise with a 9.025, and 3rd place on Balance Beam with an 8.40. Kyra Feick took 1st place honors on Balance Beam with a 9.0 and 2nd place on Uneven Bars 9.375. Their new Docksider teammate Angie Agafonovas took two 2nd place awards, one on Balance Beam with a 9.05 and one on floor with a 9.025. Karsyn Modeski took a 2nd place finish on Vault with an 8.90. Completing the 2nd place team were Nina Agafonovas, Asley Diekemper, Madelyn Nesbit, Lexi Pitkevits, and Rachel Ward.
The Level 4 girls did a great job in their very first competition! They all seemed to keep their nerves under control. Individual honors went to several Docksider girls. Sydney Gilman placed 2nd on Uneven Bars with an 8.85, 2nd on Balance Beam with a 7.75, and 2nd in the All-Around with a combined score of 33.45 in her very first gymnastics competition. Sophie Hoffman showed off on Floor exercise and won 2nd place with her score of 9.30 on that event. Adelina Rodriquez placed 3rd on Vault while Niya Torres, who is the youngest member of the Docksiders team at just 6 years old, took 2nd place on Vault with an 8.75, 3rd place on Uneven Bars with an 8.75, and 3rd place in the All-Around with a 32.750.
Congratulations to all the Docksiders girls who competed! The next meet for these talented young ladies is the Christmas on the Chesapeake meet in Baltimore Maryland the weekend of December 12th -14th at the Baltimore Convention Center.
