Docksiders Level 7, 8 & 9’s
Swing into 1st place Action!!!
Docksiders Gymnastics Optional
Teams, levels 7, 8 & 9, competed in their first gymnastics meet of the
season in Chantilly, Virginia on December 6th & 7th
and walked away with several champion titles. At Level 9 Docksiders
took 1st - 3rd place All-Around in the individual
competition in
both
age groups and won the team title. The Level 8 girls also took 1st
in the team competition and Docksider girls gathered 1st and
2nd in the All-Around. The Level 7 team took 3rd
place honors in the team competition. Wining the All-Around at Level 9
in the Junior Age group was Emily Bowen. Her total score of 35.875 was
high enough to earn her a title in her first level 9 meet. In the
Senior age group Chelcie Rosborough took top honors with a 35.425. In
the Level 8 competition Leah Dunn was crowned champion with a combined
score of 35.95. It was an outstanding start to the gymnastics season
for all of these Docksiders Teams.
Emily Bowen, the Level 9 Jr. All-Around Champion, also earned Champion status on both Uneven Bars, with a 9.05, and Balance Beam with a 9.20. She also took 2nd on the other two events. On Vault she scored an 8.875 and on Floor Exercise she earned an 8.75. Her Docksider Teammate Alexandra Zois took 2nd in the Jr. All- Around competition with a 34.65. She took 3rd place in three events as well, Vault with an 8.80, Uneven Bars with an 8.80, and Floor Exercise with an 8.70. Noelle DeCesare, one of Docksiders’ youngest optional gymnasts at just 9 years old, took 3rd in the All-Around with a 34.375. She also won 1st place on Vault with a 9.025 and 2nd on Balance Beam with an 8.75.
In the Senior Level 9 age group Chelcie Rosborough, the All-Around Champion, brought home 2nd place on three events. These came on Vault with a strong score of 9.10, on Uneven Bars with an 8.65, and on Floor Exercise with a 9.175. On the remaining event, Balance Beam, she took 3rd place with an 8.50. Docksider Amanda Castle placed 2nd in the All-Around but captured the Floor Exercise title with a 9.275. She also took 3rd place on both Vault, with an 8.975, and Uneven Bars with an 8.575. Monica Durham took two 1st place awards, winning both the Vault with 9.20 and Uneven Bars with an 8.95. She placed 2nd on Balance Beam with an 8.75 and also took 3rd in the All-Around with a 34.55.
In the Level 8 individual awards
All-Around Champion Leah Dunn of Docksiders finished with Champion
awards on two events. Her scores of 9.1 and 9.4 on Vault and Uneven
Bars both beat out
all of the competition. Jenna Martin took home 2nd in the
All-Around with 35.825 as well as a string of 2nd place
awards. She finished in 2nd on Vault with a 9.075, Balance
Beam with a 9.0 and Floor Exercise with a 9.25. Katie Korvin placed 2nd
on Uneven Bars with an 8.80 and 3rd on Balance Beam with an
8.725. Shelby Atwood took 3rd on Uneven Bars with an 8.65.
Also competing for the 1st place Docksiders Level 8 Team was
Sarah Taylor.
In the Level 7 division there were several individual standout performances for the Docksiders Team. Carolyn Bailey Placed 3rd overall in the Senior A age group with a score of 35.15. She also took first on Floor Exercise with a 9.05 and 2nd on Vault with a 9.025. In the Senior B age group Amy Milligan took 2nd in the All-Around with a 35.175 and placed 3rd on Balance Beam with an 8.70. Devin Gromen, making her debut in the Optional levels, placed 3rd on Vault with a 9.10. Also contributing to Docksiders’ 3rd place team finish were Jordan Collins, Camryn Rosen, and Sarina Troese.
