Brianna Guy and Rachel Fincham Shine at JO Nationals!!!

 

Docksiders Level 10’s traveled to Mason, Ohio for the Level 10 Junior Olympic Nationals May 18^th – 20^th.  The seven girls who qualified to compete at the meet were Rachel Fincham, Alexis Gross, Brianna Guy, Stephanie Ouellette, Courtney Shelsby, Krystal Welsh, and Betsy Zander.

Brianna Guy finished off her incredible 2006-2007 season by placing in the top 10 in the Junior A age group.  Brianna was crowned National Floor Exercise Champion for her floor routine to Drumline and Santana with the high score of 9.625.  Brianna won Floor Exercise at States, Regionals, and Nationals this season with her dynamic tumbling and awesome dance.  She also placed 4^th on Balance Beam with a 9.50 and 10^th in the All-Around with a score of 37.075.

Rachel Fincham put together her best performance of the year at the National competition.  She had a fabulous day and hit all four routines.  She had her highest All-Around score of 37.45 and placed 8^th in the Junior C age group.  Rachel, who is finishing up her sophomore year in high school, is sure to have caught the attention of the many college coaches who were watching Nationals for future recruits for college scholarships.

The National Championships are the final stop for the Docksides Level 10 gymnasts this season.  After a few days off their preparations for next season will begin almost immediately.  Look for more news about Docksiders team programs when the 2008 competition season begins next Fall.
