Brianna Guy Wins the Derby Classic in Louisville, KY

 

     Docksiders Level 10's traveled to Kentucky for the Derby Classic competition on Feb. 25th.  The team struggled a bit with several of their top scorers suffering falls and a few out with injuries.  They ended up with a 3rd place finish scoring a 111.35.  Cincinnati Gymnastics took 2nd with a 111.725 and DeVeaus won the meet with a 113.425.

     The youngest and newest Level 10, Brianna Guy, stepped up to the plate "big time" and walked away with the All Around title with the high score of 37.55.  This is Bri's first All Around win as a Level 10.  She also danced her way to a 1st place finish on floor with a 9.55, and her beautiful beam performance secured 2nd place with a 9.375.  Rachel Fincham turned in another solid show for 3rd place All Around with a 36.275 and won bars with an incredible 9.65.  She tossed in a new dismount, an Arabian Double front, and it was definitely worth it.  Toi Garcia flipped her way to a 2nd place finish on Vault with a 9.50.  Also contributing to the 3rd place team effort were Krystal Welsh, Hannah Raley, Melanie Brother, and Stephanie Ouellette.

     The Level 10's have this weekend off to prepare for their State Championships to be held in Waldorf, Maryland from March 11-12th.  Days and times of the competition are TBA.
