Docksiders Level
6 Team Takes 2nd at the Maryland State Championships
The Docksiders
Gymnastics Level 6 and Level 7 teams competed in their State Championships on
April 22nd - 23rd, and the Level 5 Team competed in their State Championships on
April 29th - 30th. The Level 6 and 7 competitions were held at Columbia Gymnastics in Columbia,
Maryland and the Level 5 competition was held at Baltimore County Gymnastics in
White Marsh, Maryland. Docksiders took 2nd place in the Level 6 Team Competition with their
highest team score of the year, a 179.625. Hills Gymnastics walked away with 1st
place with a 183.20 and ACPR Gymnastics came in 3rd place with a 177.675.
The Level 6 girls had a memorable competition with many
high individual event scores. Contributing to the team effort were Shelby
Atwood, Carolyn Bailey, Samantha Calderone, Danielle Duret, Olivia Gruver, Haley
Jones, Katie Korvin, Julie Kuhlman, Hilary McSheehy, Lauren Musselman, Madeline
Pequigney, Hope Sherman, Kelly Skoczynski, Sarah Taylor, Kendall Woodcock, and
Alexandra Zois. A highlight of the Level 6 meet for
Docksiders came in the 10
year old age division where Sarah Taylor vaulted her way to a 2nd place finish
with a score of 9.40. Many team members scored their highest individual scores
of the year at this meet and all did a fantastic job in the competition.
Another highlight of that weekend's competition was
Docksiders Level 7 gymnast Kristina Clevinger being awarded the "Outstanding
Gymnast" award for the entire state. Although she was unable to compete she was
on hand to receive her award and cheer her team on.
At the Level 5 State Championships the Docksiders team had a strong showing with
Sarah Taylor
many of the girls earning their highest scores of the year. Contributing
to the Level 5

team effort were Julia Brouillette, Devin Gromen, Kasey Henson, Grace Hulsey,
Jessi Kuhlman, Allyson Lesher, Corinne McCrary, Taylor Oliver, Melissa Shelley,
Emma Staisloff, Kerry Anne Stolcenberg, and Chesney Ward. A highlight for
the team came in the 10 year old age division where Kasey Henson earned 2nd
place on Vault with a score of 9.225. Also at this meet Emma Staisloff set
a new All-Around scoring record for the Docksiders Level 5 Team with a total
score of 36.725. All of the girls did an awesome job at the competition.
The Docksiders Level 5, 6, and 7 teams had a wonderful
season and are now training for next season.
